The Washington Musculoskeletal Tumor Center (www.sarcoma.org) is located at the Washington Cancer Institute, Washington Hospital Center and at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC. The facilities and support services available at these institutions are among the most advanced in the region.

The Washington Hospital Center, known as the "most experienced hospital" in the area, is the largest hospital in the Washington area. It is highly regarded for its cardiovascular, trauma and oncologic services provided through the Washington Cancer Institiute.

The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer treatment facility in the Washington area and is known nationally and internationally for the strength of this research and clinical programs. It offers both adult and pediatric oncologic services.

By combining the strengths of these two institutions and working closely with specialists in medical oncology, radiology and pathology, we are able to offer an effective and multidisciplinary "Combined Lombardi/Washington Cancer Institute Sarcoma Program" with the most complex and up-to-date diagnostic and treatment methods for malignant and benign musculoskeletal tumors.

Many of our pediatric patients are treated In conjunction with the renowned Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC. where advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques are provided in an environment carefully designed for children and adolescents.

We also provide surgical services  for musculoskeletal tumors for the National Institutes of Health as consultants, since in the 1980s, to the Surgery and Pediatric Oncology Branches of the National Cancer Institute.
